MetaCopier Alternative: An Honest Comparison

For your own MetaTrader and cTrader demo, evaluation and funded accounts: one price per account with journal, alerts and live P&L per repeater included — and where MetaCopier's daily billing and longer platform list fit better.

Trepeat is a trade copier built around one trader repeating their own trades across their own accounts. You place an order on a source account and a repeater repeats it to the follower accounts you linked to it, with the sizing, symbol and pause rules held against that relationship. Most readers arrive here with prop firm evaluation and funded accounts that run on demo accounts, and that is the setup it is built for. MetaCopier runs in the cloud too, with no installation or VPS, and connects a much longer list of platforms; the table sets the two side by side.

One trade, copied to two follower accounts

  1. A repeater's settings on a phone: one cTrader source account, two follower accounts (an MT5 and a cTrader account, both switched on), Equity ratio sizing rounded down, unlimited Max Volume, all symbols, no remapping.
    1. One source account, two follower accounts. The repeater's sizing rule gives each follower its own size, so the two do not trade the same lot.
  2. An open EURUSD buy of 0.05 lots on the source account, with both copies open: 0.02 lots on the cTrader follower, copied in 266 ms, and 0.05 lots on the MT5 follower, copied in 388 ms.
    2. The entry. You place a trade on the source account. It appears on both follower accounts, each at its own size.
  3. The same trade closed after 1 minute 30 seconds: the source trade and both copies closed, each with its exit price and result.
    3. The close. You close the trade on the source account. Both copies close with it.
  4. The Trades page listing the two demonstration runs, one closed as a win and one as a loss, each with its two copies.
    4. The record. The Trades page keeps every run, wins and losses alike, and each one opens to show its copies, their sizes and copy times.

One real run on demo accounts. Sizes and times are from that run and are not a promise about yours.

Why Trepeat is the better fit for your own accounts

These are concrete Trepeat behaviours you can check against your own setup — not claims about what MetaCopier does or does not do, which you should read in its documentation:

  • One monthly price per account, everything included — the journal, alerts, trade history and unlimited repeaters are in the same price, with no feature tier on top: a fixed figure per account by the month or the year, not a daily meter.
  • Its automatic closes only touch its own copies — every order Trepeat places carries its own stamp. Flatten closes the source trade and every copy of it. Trades Trepeat isn't copying are never touched, so you can still trade by hand on a follower account.
  • Sizing and symbols are set per repeater — a fixed multiplier or an equity ratio, a Max Volume ceiling, a Symbol allowlist and Symbol remapping, held against one source and its followers rather than scattered across account settings.
  • A connection problem is contained to one follower — an unhealthy follower is paused while the rest of the repeater carries on. Once it reconnects, unpause it in the repeater's settings (or press Run if the repeater stopped); if the source drops, the repeater stops.
  • Alerts that name the broker's reason — when a copy does not land you are told, with what the broker reported, and an account that disconnects while trades are still open raises an alert of its own.
  • Every close is labelled by origin — history distinguishes a repeated close, a manual close in the broker terminal and a Flatten, so you have a record to consult when two accounts disagree.
  • Live P&L for each repeater and account — open positions are valued as prices update, so you can see what a repeater currently holds rather than inferring it from closed trades.
  • No cTrader password anywhere — a cTrader account is connected by signing in with your cTrader ID on cTrader's own site. MetaTrader credentials are encrypted in a vault, with the keys held separately from the data; our connection provider (MetaApi) also holds the login to keep the account connected.

If the model is new to you, what a trade copier actually does covers it from scratch, and position sizing when copying trades walks through when a multiplier or an equity ratio is the right rule.

Where MetaCopier fits better

  • Price decides it. MetaCopier is cheaper per account at every count in the table, and it bills only for the days an account is in your project, so a short run costs only the days you used. That is the straight answer.
  • You need a platform outside MT4, MT5 and cTrader, or a live account. Its list runs from DXtrade and TradeLocker to futures and stock brokers and crypto exchanges, and its specifications page lists live environments for several of them. Trepeat currently connects demo accounts only and refuses a live account at connection. Further platforms are planned, with no date promised, so judge Trepeat on what it connects today.
  • You need stop loss and take profit on the copies. Trepeat currently copies opens and closes, in full or in part: a copy opens with no stop loss or take profit and closes when the source position closes. MetaCopier's documentation lists stop-loss and take-profit management, a trailing stop, break-even, a news filter and trading windows among its pro features.
  • You need an API, a dedicated IP or an Expert Advisor run in the cloud. MetaCopier has a REST and a socket API, a dedicated IP at USD 6 a month and Expert Advisors run at USD 0.23 a day each. Trepeat has none of these.

One thing neither tool settles for you: whether the accounts you plan to connect permit an external copier at all. For an evaluation or funded account, read the programme's own rules on external tools and on copying between your accounts; for a personal account, read your broker's terms. Trepeat does not interpret or enforce those rules. The guide to prop firm rules on copy trading covers the clauses to look for before you connect anything.

If your accounts are MetaTrader or cTrader demo, evaluation or funded accounts, the question is less which tool connects the most platforms than which one you would rather be inside when a follower disconnects mid-trade, or when you need to work out why one account closed a position and another did not. That is the work Trepeat is designed around. One source and one follower are enough to judge it.

MetaCopier Alternative — common questions

Is MetaCopier cheaper than Trepeat?

Yes, per account. MetaCopier bills USD 0.27 per account per day on a shared project (its billing page, read 16 October 2026), about $16 for two accounts over a 30-day month, $41 for five and $81 for ten, against Trepeat's $30, $75 and $150. An account using its pro features costs USD 0.10 a day more. Trepeat's $15 per account is one monthly figure with the journal, alerts and trade history included. Check both pricing pages before deciding.

Can I use Trepeat with live accounts?

Not currently. Trepeat currently connects MetaTrader demo-server accounts and cTrader demo accounts only, and refuses a live account at connection. Evaluation and funded accounts issued on a demo account connect like any other; check the account type rather than the funded label. MetaCopier's specifications page lists live environments for several of its platforms; check its documentation for yours.

Does Trepeat copy stop loss and take profit?

No. Trepeat currently copies opens and closes, in full or in part: a follower copy opens with no stop loss or take profit and closes when the source position closes. MetaCopier's documentation lists stop-loss and take-profit management among its pro features.

Do I need a VPS for either tool?

No. Both run in the cloud, with nothing to install and no VPS to rent, so copying continues whether your own machines are on or off.

Does MetaCopier have a free trial?

It gives a USD 20 credit on your first project, for up to 10 accounts, with a card added before you start (read 16 October 2026). Trepeat has a free 1-week trial on up to 3 cTrader accounts.

All questions — pricing, the trial, copying and safety — are in the Help Centre. Still stuck? Email support@trepeat.com.
