Help Centre
Trepeat is built for prop-firm traders running several evaluation and funded accounts at once, on MetaTrader and cTrader demo accounts. Common questions answered, plus quick-start guides for connecting your first broker account and creating a repeater. If your question isn't here, email support@trepeat.com.
Quick start
1. Sign up and start your trial
Create an account at app.trepeat.com/signup with just your email — we send you a magic sign-in link, or you can continue with Google. No password to remember; you can optionally turn on two-factor authentication from Settings once you're in. Every new account starts with a 7-day free trial — you choose how many accounts to pay for once it ends. No card needed. The free trial covers up to 3 cTrader accounts. MT4 and MT5 connect as soon as you subscribe. Add a card before the trial ends to keep your repeaters running. If you don't, the trial ends, your repeaters stop, and the account is deleted 30 days later.
2. Add a broker account
Open Accounts in the sidebar, click Add account and choose your platform. cTrader asks for nothing here: Continue signs you out of cTrader, you sign in with the cTrader ID you want on cTrader's own site (the email your broker or prop firm registered, not an account number) and tick the trading accounts to authorise, then name the ones you want to add. For MetaTrader you'll need three pieces of information from your broker: the login number, the trading password (sometimes called the "main" or "master" password — not your broker portal password), and the server name. The server name comes from the welcome email your broker sent when you opened the account, or from the dropdown on the MetaTrader login screen — it looks like ICMarkets-Demo01 or PropFirm-Server2. Pick the right platform too: MT4 and MT5 use different connection protocols. If an account fails to connect because the other one was right, open Reconnect on it and pick the other one. The login must be on a demo server — Trepeat connects demo accounts only, which is what prop-firm evaluation and funded accounts usually run on; a live real-capital login is rejected at connect and cannot be reconnected.
3. Create a repeater
Once at least two accounts are connected, go to Repeaters → New repeater. Choose the source account (where trades originate), one or more follower accounts (where they'll be repeated), and a contract multiplier (1.0 means same size; 0.5 means half-size on the follower). Set a symbol allowlist if you want to restrict which instruments are repeated, or leave it empty to repeat everything. Sizing has two modes: a fixed multiplier, or equity ratio, which scales each follower by its own equity so accounts of different sizes stay proportional. You can also run as many repeaters at once as you like — one per strategy, each with its own sizing, allowlist and remapping.
4. Press Run
Click Run on the repeater card. The engine subscribes to the source account's trade stream and repeats fills onto each follower in real time. Press Stop any time to halt copying without disconnecting the accounts.
Frequently asked questions
Short answers below. The documentation covers each of these properly — what every control does, and what happens when you use it.
Which brokers does Trepeat support?
MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 and cTrader, at any broker or prop firm — demo accounts on either, copying within one platform or across them in either direction. Live real-capital accounts are not supported.
How do I connect an account?
MetaTrader takes your login, password and server name; cTrader takes a sign-in on cTrader's own site, with no password held here. Step by step: MetaTrader · cTrader.
Where do I find my MT4 / MT5 server name?
In the welcome email your broker sent with your login number, or in the dropdown on the MetaTrader login screen.
Does Trepeat work with prop-firm accounts?
Yes — evaluation and funded accounts with any firm that issues MT4, MT5 or cTrader credentials, because both stages usually run on demo servers. A live real-capital login is refused at connect on either platform. On cTrader it depends how the firm issues the account: a challenge placed on a live-host account cannot be connected, and you are told so at add time, before paying for anything.
Will my prop firm see that I use a copier?
It can, and Trepeat does not hide it: your accounts connect from a cloud server, not your own device, and every copied trade is labelled trepeat-. Some firms ban cloud copiers or a VPS outright, so check your firm's rules before you connect. What each platform shows: what your firm sees.
Can I connect the same broker login twice?
No. Each broker login is exclusive to one Trepeat account, across every user — two sessions copying against one broker login produce duplicate orders and broker-side disconnects.
What does each account status mean?
Standby is the normal resting state, not a fault. Every status, and what to do when one will not clear, is in account statuses.
Does it work on a phone or tablet?
Yes — the whole app, not a cut-down version. Tables become cards below tablet width so nothing is cut off or sideways-scrolling, and every main page is checked at phone width as part of the test suite. Copying itself runs on our servers either way, so your phone is only ever a window onto it: closing the app, losing signal or running out of battery does not stop a repeater.
How is a trade actually repeated?
The source account places an order, Trepeat sees the fill in real time, sizes it for each follower and places a matching order there, tagged so it can be recognised later. Trades appear on your Trades page grouped source-plus-followers. Detail: trades and positions.
Will Trepeat close my manual trades?
Only a trade it is copying, and only when you press Flatten. Every order Trepeat places carries its tag, and its automatic closes only ever touch those copies. Flatten closes the source trade and every copy of it. Trades Trepeat isn't copying are never touched.
Can I control the size copied to a follower?
Yes — a fixed multiplier, an equity-ratio mode that scales each follower by its own equity, a rounding mode and a per-trade volume cap. Every setting with its default and range: repeater settings.
My brokers spell the same instrument differently.
Symbol remapping translates the name for each follower — including across platforms, where cTrader writes the S&P 500 as US 500 and a MetaTrader broker writes US500. See symbol allowlist and remapping.
What happens if a follower goes offline?
That follower is paused inside the repeater and an alert fires; copying to the others keeps running. If it was the only unpaused follower the repeater stops. Copying never resumes on its own — you unpause or press Run.
What happens to open positions when I Stop?
You choose: close them, or leave them open and manage them yourself. Flatten is the separate emergency action: it closes the source trade and every copy of it, without stopping the repeater. Both, plus pausing a single follower, are covered in Running, Stopped and open positions.
How fast are trades repeated?
In real time. Fills are pushed to Trepeat the moment they happen and dispatched to every follower account simultaneously. Fills missed while a connection was down are not opened after the fact, and nothing records them. If a follower misses a close while it is offline, Trepeat alerts you when it reconnects so you can close that copy yourself. A copy that fails or is skipped shows on the Trades page with the reason, and raises an alert.
More in the docs →Are stop loss and take profit copied?
No. Follower copies open with no stop loss or take profit, and moving them on the source changes nothing on the followers. When the source position closes — by hand, or because its stop loss or take profit was hit — each follower copy closes too, at its own broker's market price. Pending orders aren't copied either: a limit or stop order resting on the source places nothing on the followers, and when it fills, the followers get a market order at that moment.
More in the docs →Will it create duplicate orders?
Trepeat never sends an order twice for one fill: every fill is de-duplicated, so seeing it twice (live stream + post-reconnect history replay) does not send a second order. If a broker executes a copy twice or late, Trepeat detects it and tells you.
More in the docs →Is there a free trial?
Yes — every new account starts with a 7-day free trial. The free trial covers up to 3 cTrader accounts. MT4 and MT5 connect as soon as you subscribe. No card needed. Add a card before the trial ends to keep your repeaters running. If you don't, the trial ends, your repeaters stop, and the account is deleted 30 days later. More in pricing and the free trial.
How is Trepeat priced?
$15 per account per month, or $165 per account per year (one month free), tax included — any VAT, GST or sales tax is part of the price, never added on top. The same on MT4, MT5 and cTrader, with every feature and unlimited repeaters included. At least 2 accounts, so from $30 a month; up to 20 from the app, more by emailing us. Every connected account counts, the source included; an Archived account does not. Detail: pricing and the free trial.
How do I add or remove paid accounts?
From Settings → Subscription, or Manage on the Accounts page. Adding is charged straight away for the rest of the billing period, with the exact amount shown first; lowering takes effect from your next bill. Archiving an account does not change your bill: its paid account is free for another one until you lower the number.
Cancelling, or switching between monthly and yearly?
Both from Settings → Subscription. Cancelling keeps your subscription active to the end of the current period. Monthly to yearly: switch now (charged straight away, prorated) or at your next bill (nothing charged today); yearly to monthly takes effect at the yearly renewal.
Which payment methods are accepted?
Any card Stripe supports — Visa, Mastercard, American Express and most regional debit cards. No PayPal or cryptocurrency at the moment.
What's your refund policy?
Monthly fees are non-refundable after the trial ends; annual subscriptions have a 14-day prorated window if no broker account was connected after renewal. Full terms: Refund Policy.
What counts as an account?
Every broker account you have connected, the source included — one source and three followers is four accounts. Repeaters don't count: the same account in five repeaters is still one. An archived account doesn't count either, and archiving one doesn't lower your bill — the account you paid for is free for another until you lower the number in Settings.
More in the docs →How are my broker credentials stored?
Encrypted at rest in Supabase Vault. Plaintext passwords are never written to the application database, never logged and never returned over the API once stored. For cTrader there is no password at all — you sign in on cTrader's own site and can withdraw that access from your cTrader ID at any time. Two-factor, recovery codes and sessions: account security. For the full picture, read the Security page.
I have no recovery codes left. How do I confirm a change?
Turn on two-factor authentication in Settings → Security, then use your authenticator whenever you are asked for a code. Once it is on you can also make a fresh set of ten codes there. More in account security.
Do you share my data with third parties?
No, beyond the operational sub-processors needed to run the service. The full list is on Subprocessors and what each receives is in the Privacy Policy.
Are you GDPR-compliant?
Yes. EU-based sub-processors where possible, full data export on request, and account deletion within 30 days.
Where is my data hosted?
Product analytics are in the EU (Frankfurt). The application database, the engine and the serverless functions run in the United States, not the EU. MetaTrader broker data reaches the engine through the connection provider's region for your broker's server.
What happens when I delete my account?
Your subscription is cancelled, every credential in the vault is destroyed, connected accounts are undeployed and your rows are removed by cascade delete. Backups roll off within 30 days.
How does sign-in work? What if I lose access to my email?
Sign-in is passwordless — you type your email, we send a one-time magic link. There's no password to forget or leak. If you ever lose access to that mailbox, you can recover the account with any three of the ten single-use recovery codes you saved at sign-up, or with any one code plus a verified backup email. Two-factor authentication via an authenticator app is optional but recommended.
More in the docs →A trade didn't copy — what do I check?
In order: is the repeater Running; is the source account connected; is the symbol on the allowlist; and then the Trades page, where every failed or skipped copy shows with its reason. Fills outside the allowlist, before Run or while a connection was down leave no record. The most common cause by far is the two brokers spelling the instrument differently — see symbol allowlist and remapping.
My account shows Reconnect — what does that mean?
The broker session dropped. On MetaTrader, Reconnect retries and asks for the trading password if it changed; it is blocked while dropping the connection would stop a Running repeater. On cTrader it asks for no password — it sends you back to cTrader, and one sign-in restores every account that cTrader ID covers. If the error says the login is a live account there is no Reconnect: that login can never become a demo account.
My repeater stopped after an account went unhealthy.
Fix the account showing a red status on the Accounts page, then press Run again. Repeaters do not restart themselves after a health issue, so you decide when copying resumes.
What is Trepeat telling me?
Anything needing attention is an alert; the record of what happened to your accounts and repeaters is in the activity logs.
