Repeater settings

Sizing, defaults, ranges and precedence: how each repeater setting affects a follower order.

These settings belong to a repeater. They apply to each follower account, with follower-specific Symbol remapping taking precedence where configured. Defaults below are the values in the new-repeater form; an existing repeater keeps its saved settings.

The order of operations

  • Check the source symbol against the Symbol allowlist.
  • Resolve Symbol remapping for that follower account, including its symbol ratio.
  • Calculate the quantity using the sizing mode, then multiply by the symbol ratio.
  • Convert for contract size when the two brokers define a lot differently.
  • Snap to the follower symbol's volume step using Quantity Rounding.
  • Apply Max Volume, then the follower broker's per-order maximum.
  • Skip a final quantity below the follower symbol's minimum; otherwise attempt the order.

Sizing mode

Default: Multiplier. The two choices are Multiplier and Equity ratio (equity_ratio). Multiplier sizing calculates source quantity × multiplier × symbol ratio × contract-size factor. Equity ratio calculates source quantity × (follower equity ÷ source equity) × symbol ratio × contract-size factor. Equity values are the latest cached account equities.

With known equity on both sides, Equity ratio ignores the multiplier, but the symbol ratio still applies. If either equity is missing, sizing falls back to the saved multiplier and still applies the symbol ratio. A known source equity of zero or less skips the copy instead of using that fallback. A zero follower equity produces zero quantity, which is below the minimum and is skipped.

Multiplier

Default: 1×. Form range: 0.01×–100×, step 0.01. This scales the source quantity in Multiplier mode and in the missing-equity fallback. The input is hidden in Equity ratio mode; hiding it does not remove the saved fallback value.

A symbol ratio multiplies with the sizing mode; it does not replace it. For a 1-lot source order, a 2× multiplier and a 0.5 symbol ratio produce 1 lot before rounding and caps, not 0.5 lots. In Equity ratio mode, a follower with half the source equity and a 0.5 symbol ratio produces 0.25 lots from that same source order.

Contract size

A lot is not a fixed amount. It is a number of units of the instrument, and brokers disagree: one lot of silver is 1,000 ounces at some brokers and 5,000 at others. Copying one lot to one lot across that pair would give the follower five times the position.

So the quantity is converted by source contract size ÷ follower contract size, using the sizes each broker reports for its own symbol. A 1.00-lot source on a 1,000-unit broker becomes 0.20 on a 5,000-unit follower, which is the same exposure. Where both brokers agree — as they do for most FX pairs — the factor is 1 and nothing changes.

There is no setting for this. It applies to both sizing modes and multiplies on top of the multiplier and any symbol ratio, so a 1× multiplier can still produce a different follower lot on symbols where the two brokers differ. When a contract size is unknown on either side, no conversion is applied rather than guessing one. Any copy it changed shows the factor on the Trades page.

Max Volume

Default: Unlimited (empty). Form range: 0.01–10,000 lots, step 0.01. Max Volume is a per-order cap, applied after sizing and rounding. It does not cap total held volume. Three separate copies of 1 lot can total 3 lots on one symbol even when Max Volume is 1 lot. Unlimited removes this user cap; the follower broker's own maximum still applies.

The smaller ceiling wins. If sizing produces 2 lots, Max Volume is 1.5 and the broker maximum is 1, the final quantity is 1 lot. Caps are applied after snapping, without another step-rounding pass, so a cap that is not a valid broker volume increment can still lead to an order rejection.

Quantity Rounding

Default: Floor. Floor rounds down, Round chooses the nearest step (a positive halfway value rounds up), and Ceiling rounds up. All three snap to the follower broker's volume step for the target symbol, not to whole lots and not always to 0.01. For a 0.1 step, 0.26 lots becomes 0.2 with Floor or 0.3 with Round or Ceiling. Caps can reduce any of these results afterward.

If the broker does not report a usable positive volume step or minimum, each missing value falls back to 0.01. A missing broker maximum means no broker ceiling is applied by the calculation. These fallbacks do not establish what the broker will accept.

A final quantity below the follower symbol's minimum is skipped, not raised to that minimum. For example, with a 0.1 minimum and a 0.01 step, a rounded quantity of 0.05 is skipped. The minimum check follows rounding and caps: Ceiling can round a raw quantity up to a valid step, but there is no separate round-up-to-minimum rule.

Order confirmation limit

Default: 5 seconds. Form range: 1–30 seconds, in whole seconds. This bounds how long the follower broker has to confirm a copied order. A timed-out copy is recorded as failed. If the broker later fills it and Trepeat detects that late fill, Trepeat attempts to close the position. Closure can fail; check the alert and the broker account rather than assuming the position is closed.

The same setting separately bounds the wait for a follower connection that is already being set up. A follower that is disconnected with no connection pending does not get that wait. This is not a total source-to-follower latency limit, and it does not change sizing, rounding or either volume cap.

Symbol allowlist

Default: empty, allowing all source symbols. Select zero or more symbols from the source account's symbol list. A non-empty list permits only those source symbols, matched without case sensitivity. This filter runs before Symbol remapping; a remapping row cannot make an excluded source symbol copy. Use the source name here, even when the follower broker uses a different name.

Symbol remapping

Default: no rows. Without a matching row, the source symbol is used unchanged and the symbol ratio is 1. A row selects a source symbol, a target symbol and a ratio. New-row ratio: 1×; form range: 0.01×–100×, step 0.01. The row can apply to all follower accounts or one selected follower account. A row for that specific follower wins over the all-followers row for the same source symbol; their ratios are not multiplied together. Source-symbol matching for remapping is exact, including case.

The selected row's ratio multiplies with the sizing calculation. The target symbol determines which follower broker volume step, minimum and maximum apply. Both symbols must be selected, and duplicate rows for the same source symbol and follower scope cannot be saved. With no remapping, Equity ratio still uses equity sizing; it does not switch back to Multiplier merely because the list is empty.
