How does an account copier work?

It watches the source account you trade and repeats each open and close onto the follower accounts you connected, each one sized by the repeater's rule.

  • Account copier, duplicator, replicator.Different vendors' words for one tool: it watches the account you trade and repeats its orders onto the others you own.

  • Not copy trading. There is nobody to follow and no way to reach an account you did not connect yourself.

  • Only copied trades are closed.Flatten closes the source trade and every copy of it; trades Trepeat isn't copying are never touched.

  • Any direction across MT4, MT5 and cTrader. Each repeater carries its own symbol allowlist and remapping for the names brokers disagree on.

More about the Account Copier

Account copier, trade copier, trade duplicator, trade replicator — they all name the same thing: software that watches one account you trade and repeats its orders onto other accounts you own. Trepeat is that, for MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 and cTrader, in any direction between them. You pick a source account, pick the followers, set how the repeater sizes them, and press Run. What it is NOT is copy trading: there is nobody to follow, no leaderboard, and no way to connect to another person's account — every account is one you connect yourself. Evaluation and funded accounts usually run on demo accounts — MetaTrader demo servers, or a cTrader demo account where the firm issues one — which is what Trepeat currently connects; a challenge placed on a live account can't be connected either way.

One source account, every account you own
Place the trade once. Each follower account receives its own order, sized by the repeater's rule applied to its own account, with its own fill. Stop a single follower without touching the rest, or stop the whole repeater at once — and at Stop you choose whether open copies are closed or left for you to manage.
It only touches trades it copies
Every order Trepeat places carries its own tag, and its automatic closes only ever touch positions carrying that tag. Flatten closes the source trade and every copy of it. Trades Trepeat isn't copying are never touched: a trade you place by hand on a follower account is not closed, not counted, not reconciled away. That is an engine rule, not a setting you can get wrong. On a netting account, where the broker keeps one position per symbol, a copy can merge into a position you already hold; Trepeat refuses to close that one and tells you why.
Per-repeater risk config
Each repeater sets one risk profile — multiplier or equity-ratio sizing, max-volume cap and symbol allowlist — applied to all its followers, while a symbol remap can target all followers or one. Equity-ratio sizing auto-scales each follower to its account size, so one source can drive a large funded account and a small demo account from the same strategy.
Symbol remapping
Brokers name the same instrument differently — EURUSD on one, EURUSD.r on another, EURUSDm on a third. Set a remap once and every later fill uses it. Point it at all followers, or at ONE named follower when two brokers disagree — which is the case an all-follower rule cannot express, because it can only offer a name every follower carries.
Built for evaluation + funded accounts
Prop-firm evaluation and funded accounts usually run on demo accounts — MetaTrader demo servers, or a cTrader demo account where the firm issues one — which is exactly what Trepeat currently connects. Run your evaluations and funded accounts side by side, each repeater with its own sizing and symbol rules. A challenge placed on a live account can't be connected either way. We don't share data with prop firms or read their evaluation rules.

What each number means

Any platform to any platform. Mix MT4, MT5 and cTrader followers under one source.

Sized and matched per account. Lots follow each account's equity or your multiplier; broker symbol names are remapped once.

Maximum lot per order. One cap per repeater: no single copy is bigger than you allow.

Alerts that reach you. In-app for every event; email when an account stays disconnected or copies keep failing.

Live P&L and journal. Every account's results in one place, with notes on each setup.

Closes checked. A follower that misses a close while offline raises an alert on reconnect. Flatten closes the source trade and every copy of it. Trades Trepeat isn't copying are never touched.

Fast, always on, out of your way.

The engine runs around the clock in the cloud, so your PC can be off and your phone is all you need.

Real time

Pushed, not polled

Fills reach Trepeat over a live stream from each broker connection, and the order goes to every follower as soon as the fill arrives. Each follower's broker still sets its own execution time.

24/7

Always-on engine

Runs on AWS, not your computer. No VPS to rent, no EA to install.

30 s

Uptime probes

The site and app are checked every 30 seconds from several AWS regions, and the engine is watched by alarms around the clock.

Broker passwords encrypted

Kept in an encrypted vault and never sent to your browser. cTrader connects through its official sign-in, so Trepeat never sees that password at all.

Only copied trades are touched

Flatten closes the source trade and every copy of it. Trades Trepeat isn't copying are never touched.

Account Copier — common questions

What is an account copier?

Software that watches one trading account and repeats its orders onto others. You trade your source account as usual; each follower account receives the same opens and closes, sized by the repeater's rule applied to its own account. The words trade copier, account copier, trade duplicator and trade replicator are used interchangeably for it — there is no technical difference between them, they are just different vendors' vocabulary.

Is an account copier the same as copy trading?

No, and the difference is whose accounts are involved. Copy trading platforms connect you to somebody else's trading. An account copier connects accounts you already own to each other — there is nobody to follow and no way to reach an account you did not connect yourself. If you want to back another trader, an account copier is the wrong tool entirely.

Can it copy between MT4, MT5 and cTrader accounts?

Yes, in any direction: a cTrader source can drive MetaTrader followers, a MetaTrader source can drive cTrader followers, and same-platform pairs work too. The thing that needs attention across platforms is instrument naming — brokers spell the same symbol differently — so each repeater carries its own symbol allowlist and symbol remapping, set once and reused on every later fill.

Do I need a VPS to run an account copier?

Not with Trepeat. The engine runs in the cloud and holds the connections itself, so nothing needs to stay running on your own machine and there is no terminal to keep logged in. Copiers that ship as an MT4 expert advisor or a desktop program do need something always-on, which is where the VPS requirement usually comes from.
