How do I copy MT5 trades to a cTrader account?

Create a repeater with the MT5 account as the source account and the cTrader account as the follower account, remap the index names that differ, and press Run.

  • A mode at both ends.MT5 is hedging or netting and cTrader Hedged or Netted, each set when the broker made the account.

  • Alerted at the stacking moment. It fires when a copy is about to land on a symbol the follower already holds.

  • USTEC to US TECH 100.Abbreviations on one side, spaces on the other, translated before each fill.

  • Volume per symbol, per broker.Minimums and steps are read from the follower's broker and each copy is snapped to them.

More about the MT5 to cTrader Trade Copier

MT5 and cTrader are the two platforms where an account is hedging or netting, so this is the one direction where mode is a live question at both ends rather than one. A netting MT5 source keeps a single net position per symbol, so stacking two trades there gives it one position to report where a hedging account would have had two. A netted cTrader follower merges the copies it receives. Naming is the other half of the job: MT5 brokers write USTEC, GER40 and JP225 where cTrader brokers write US TECH 100, GERMANY 40 and JAPAN 225. Currently demo accounts only on both platforms: prop-firm evaluation and funded accounts usually run on demo accounts — MetaTrader demo servers, or a cTrader demo account where the firm issues one — which is what Trepeat connects. Live real-capital accounts aren't supported.

Mode is a question at both ends
An MT5 account is hedging or netting and a cTrader account is Hedged or Netted, each decided by the broker when the account was created. Trepeat tracks one follower position per source position on every platform, which maps exactly while a symbol holds a single position — including partial closes, which repeat against that position, sized by the repeater's rule (one too small for the follower's minimum closes the whole copy). It is the second position in one symbol where a netting account on either end starts to diverge.
The netted follower alert fires at the stacking moment
A setup-time warning can only say an account is netted; it cannot know you have now done the specific thing netting breaks. Trepeat raises the alert the moment a copy is about to land on a symbol that follower already holds — the point at which its exposure actually stops matching the source — and names the symbol and the repeater.
Abbreviations on one side, spaces on the other
MetaTrader brokers abbreviate indices and close them up, and some prefix whole families with a hash: US500, USTEC, GER40, #Germany40, #Japan225. cTrader brokers spell them out with spaces: US 500, US TECH 100, GERMANY 40, JAPAN 225. A repeater-level symbol remap translates the name before each fill is submitted, and Trepeat proposes the match when you create the remapping.
Volume read from the follower's broker, per symbol
Minimums and steps belong to the instrument and the broker, not the platform. FX majors commonly step in 0.01 lots; index and crypto CFDs frequently step in 0.1, 1.0 or larger, and cTrader adds a per-symbol units-per-lot figure on top. Trepeat reads each follower symbol's own numbers and snaps the copy to them, skipping anything that lands below the minimum rather than sending an order the broker would refuse.
Built for evaluation + funded accounts
Prop-firm evaluation and funded accounts usually run on demo accounts — MetaTrader demo servers, or a cTrader demo account where the firm issues one — which is exactly what Trepeat currently connects. Run your evaluations and funded accounts side by side, each repeater with its own sizing and symbol rules. A challenge placed on a live account can't be connected either way. We don't share data with prop firms or read their evaluation rules.

What each number means

Any platform to any platform. Mix MT4, MT5 and cTrader followers under one source.

Sized and matched per account. Lots follow each account's equity or your multiplier; broker symbol names are remapped once.

Maximum lot per order. One cap per repeater: no single copy is bigger than you allow.

Alerts that reach you. In-app for every event; email when an account stays disconnected or copies keep failing.

Live P&L and journal. Every account's results in one place, with notes on each setup.

Closes checked. A follower that misses a close while offline raises an alert on reconnect. Flatten closes the source trade and every copy of it. Trades Trepeat isn't copying are never touched.

Fast, always on, out of your way.

The engine runs around the clock in the cloud, so your PC can be off and your phone is all you need.

Real time

Pushed, not polled

Fills reach Trepeat over a live stream from each broker connection, and the order goes to every follower as soon as the fill arrives. Each follower's broker still sets its own execution time.

24/7

Always-on engine

Runs on AWS, not your computer. No VPS to rent, no EA to install.

30 s

Uptime probes

The site and app are checked every 30 seconds from several AWS regions, and the engine is watched by alarms around the clock.

Broker passwords encrypted

Kept in an encrypted vault and never sent to your browser. cTrader connects through its official sign-in, so Trepeat never sees that password at all.

Only copied trades are touched

Flatten closes the source trade and every copy of it. Trades Trepeat isn't copying are never touched.

MT5 to cTrader Trade Copier — common questions

Can I copy trades from MT5 to cTrader?

Yes, and in either direction — an MT5 source can drive cTrader followers, and a cTrader source can drive MT5 ones. Followers on both platforms can sit on the same repeater, each sized by that repeater's rules.

My MT5 source account is netting — does that change what gets copied?

It changes what there is to copy. A netting account holds one net position per symbol, so if you stack two trades on that symbol it only ever had one position to report, and closing it produces one event where a hedging source would have produced two. A strategy that holds a single position per symbol copies identically either way.

What if my cTrader follower account is Netted?

Copying still runs, and the first copy on a symbol lands exactly as it should. The match stops being position-for-position when a second copy arrives on a symbol that account already holds, because the broker merges them into one net position. Trepeat alerts you at that moment. If you have the choice when creating the account, a Hedged follower is the one to use.

How do I tell which mode an account is in?

cTrader labels an account Hedged or Netted on its authorisation screen, MT5 reports its margin mode to any client that asks, and your broker can tell you since the mode is chosen when the account is created. Trepeat reads it from the broker once the account is connected and flags a netting or exchange account on the Accounts page.

Do cTrader and MetaTrader accounts cost different amounts?

No. Every connected account is $15 a month whichever platform it is on, and one subscription covers any mix of platforms.
