How does a trade copier handle a hedging account?
It opens one follower position for every source position and closes each one with its own, so nothing is merged.
One follower position per source position.Three EURUSD trades on the source mean three on the follower, each closing with its own.
Partial closes stay matched. They repeat proportionally against that position, not against the symbol as a whole.
Netting followers flagged when it counts. The alert fires as a copy is about to stack on a symbol that account already holds.
“Hedging” is the account mode, not a strategy.Trepeat repeats your source in the same direction and never opens a position it did not take.
More about the Hedging Trade Copier
Most MetaTrader and cTrader accounts run in hedging mode, where a second trade on a symbol you already hold opens a second position instead of reducing the first. Trepeat is built that way throughout: it tracks one follower position per source position, so closing one source trade closes the copy that belongs to it and nothing else. Netting accounts work differently, and Trepeat tells you at the moment it starts to matter rather than at setup time. Evaluation and funded accounts usually run on demo accounts — MetaTrader demo servers, or a cTrader demo account where the firm issues one — which is what Trepeat currently connects; a challenge placed on a live account can't be connected either way.
- One position per source position
- Every copy is tracked against the exact source position it came from, on every platform. Open three trades on EURUSD and the follower holds three, each closing with its own source — including partial closes, which repeat against that position rather than the symbol as a whole, sized by the repeater's rule. A partial too small for the follower's minimum closes the whole copy.
- Netting followers are flagged when it counts
- A netting account merges same-symbol positions instead of opening a second, so the follower's exposure stops matching the source. A setup-time warning can only say the account is netting; Trepeat raises it the moment a copy is about to land on a symbol that account already holds — the point at which it actually breaks.
- Symbol remapping
- Brokers name the same instrument differently — EURUSD on one, EURUSD.r on another, EURUSDm on a third. Set a remap once and every later fill uses it. Point it at all followers, or at ONE named follower when two brokers disagree — which is the case an all-follower rule cannot express, because it can only offer a name every follower carries.
- Per-repeater risk config
- Each repeater sets one risk profile — multiplier or equity-ratio sizing, max-volume cap and symbol allowlist — applied to all its followers, while a symbol remap can target all followers or one. Equity-ratio sizing auto-scales each follower to its account size, so one source can drive a large funded account and a small demo account from the same strategy.
- Built for evaluation + funded accounts
- Prop-firm evaluation and funded accounts usually run on demo accounts — MetaTrader demo servers, or a cTrader demo account where the firm issues one — which is exactly what Trepeat currently connects. Run your evaluations and funded accounts side by side, each repeater with its own sizing and symbol rules. A challenge placed on a live account can't be connected either way. We don't share data with prop firms or read their evaluation rules.

Any platform to any platform. Mix MT4, MT5 and cTrader followers under one source.
Sized and matched per account. Lots follow each account's equity or your multiplier; broker symbol names are remapped once.
Maximum lot per order. One cap per repeater: no single copy is bigger than you allow.
Alerts that reach you. In-app for every event; email when an account stays disconnected or copies keep failing.
Live P&L and journal. Every account's results in one place, with notes on each setup.
Closes checked. A follower that misses a close while offline raises an alert on reconnect. Flatten closes the source trade and every copy of it. Trades Trepeat isn't copying are never touched.

Fast, always on, out of your way.
The engine runs around the clock in the cloud, so your PC can be off and your phone is all you need.
Real time
Pushed, not polled
Fills reach Trepeat over a live stream from each broker connection, and the order goes to every follower as soon as the fill arrives. Each follower's broker still sets its own execution time.

Broker passwords encrypted
Kept in an encrypted vault and never sent to your browser. cTrader connects through its official sign-in, so Trepeat never sees that password at all.

Hedging Trade Copier — common questions
What is the difference between a hedging and a netting account?
On a hedging account each trade you open is its own position, so you can hold several on the same symbol at once — and in both directions. On a netting account the broker keeps one position per symbol: a second trade adds to it, reduces it, or flips it. Most MT4, MT5 and cTrader accounts are hedging; netting is more common on exchange-style and some institutional accounts.
Does Trepeat work if my follower account is netting?
It copies, but the match stops being exact as soon as a second copy lands on a symbol that account already holds — the broker merges them, so one source position no longer maps to one follower position. Trepeat raises an alert at that moment and names the symbol and the repeater. If you have the choice, a hedging follower is the one to use.
Does a hedging copier open opposite trades to hedge my risk?
No. “Hedging” here is the account mode your broker runs, not a strategy Trepeat applies. Trepeat repeats what your source account does, in the same direction; it never reverses a trade or opens a position your source did not take.
Can I copy from a hedging account to accounts at different brokers?
Yes — that is the normal case. One source can drive several followers at different brokers and on different platforms, each with its own sizing and symbol rules. Where brokers spell an instrument differently, a repeater-level symbol remap handles it.
What about MT4 — does it have netting at all?
MT4 accounts are hedging, so the question only arises on MT5 and cTrader, where the broker decides the mode when the account is created. You can see which mode an account is in on its broker platform, and Trepeat reads it from the broker once the account is connected.
