How do I copy cTrader trades to an MT4 account?

Authorise the cTrader account with your cTrader ID, add the MT4 account with its login, password and server, then press Run on a repeater from the cTrader source account to the MT4 follower account.

  • MT4 followers are always hedging. Each copy opens as its own position and closes with the source position it came from.

  • Spaces to abbreviations.US 500 becomes your MT4 broker's US500 or SPX500, suffix and all.

  • Empty picker on a new MT4 follower? Its symbol list is read when you add it; if that read failed, it fills in once the account connects.

  • One cTrader ID, several sources.Authorise once on cTrader's site, then pick the accounts to add.

More about the cTrader to MT4 Trade Copier

A cTrader source account can drive MetaTrader 4 followers, and the naming work runs in the opposite direction to the MetaTrader-first case. Your source spells indices with spaces — US 500, GERMANY 40, JAPAN 225 — and each MT4 follower wants its own abbreviation, often with a broker decoration on top: US500, GER40, EURUSDm, XAUUSD.r. The compensation is that account mode is settled on the follower side. MT4 accounts behave as hedging, so once the names line up the follower repeats the source position for position, including partial closes. Currently demo accounts only on both platforms: prop-firm evaluation and funded accounts usually run on demo accounts — MetaTrader demo servers, or a cTrader demo account where the firm issues one — which is what Trepeat connects. Live real-capital accounts aren't supported.

An MT4 follower is always hedging
MT4 has no netting mode to discover after the fact, so every copy opens as its own position on the follower. Three source trades on one symbol means three follower positions, each closing with the source position it came from, and a partial close on the source repeats against that position rather than against the symbol as a whole, sized by the repeater's rule. A partial too small for the follower's minimum closes the whole copy.
Mapping from spaces to abbreviations
A repeater carries its own symbol remapping, so US 500 becomes whatever your MT4 broker calls it — US500, SPX500, or the same name with that broker's suffix attached. Trepeat proposes the match when you create the remapping, recognising both the cTrader spacing and MetaTrader decorations, and never applies one on its own.
When each symbol list becomes available
Both platforms read an account's symbol list when you add it, so remappings can usually be set straight away. If the target picker is still empty on a newly added MT4 follower, that read didn't come back; the list fills in once the account connects. Worth knowing before you conclude the remapping is broken.
Sign in with your cTrader ID
Connecting the source happens on cTrader's own authorisation screen, not in a form on ours, so Trepeat never sees or stores your cTrader password. One cTrader ID often covers several trading accounts: authorise once, then pick which of them to add. Each added account counts as one, exactly like a MetaTrader account.
Built for evaluation + funded accounts
Prop-firm evaluation and funded accounts usually run on demo accounts — MetaTrader demo servers, or a cTrader demo account where the firm issues one — which is exactly what Trepeat currently connects. Run your evaluations and funded accounts side by side, each repeater with its own sizing and symbol rules. A challenge placed on a live account can't be connected either way. We don't share data with prop firms or read their evaluation rules.

What each number means

Any platform to any platform. Mix MT4, MT5 and cTrader followers under one source.

Sized and matched per account. Lots follow each account's equity or your multiplier; broker symbol names are remapped once.

Maximum lot per order. One cap per repeater: no single copy is bigger than you allow.

Alerts that reach you. In-app for every event; email when an account stays disconnected or copies keep failing.

Live P&L and journal. Every account's results in one place, with notes on each setup.

Closes checked. A follower that misses a close while offline raises an alert on reconnect. Flatten closes the source trade and every copy of it. Trades Trepeat isn't copying are never touched.

Fast, always on, out of your way.

The engine runs around the clock in the cloud, so your PC can be off and your phone is all you need.

Real time

Pushed, not polled

Fills reach Trepeat over a live stream from each broker connection, and the order goes to every follower as soon as the fill arrives. Each follower's broker still sets its own execution time.

24/7

Always-on engine

Runs on AWS, not your computer. No VPS to rent, no EA to install.

30 s

Uptime probes

The site and app are checked every 30 seconds from several AWS regions, and the engine is watched by alarms around the clock.

Broker passwords encrypted

Kept in an encrypted vault and never sent to your browser. cTrader connects through its official sign-in, so Trepeat never sees that password at all.

Only copied trades are touched

Flatten closes the source trade and every copy of it. Trades Trepeat isn't copying are never touched.

cTrader to MT4 Trade Copier — common questions

Can a cTrader account be the source account?

Yes. A cTrader source can drive MT4 followers, MT5 followers, other cTrader accounts, or a mix of all three on one repeater. The source's platform decides only how its fills are observed; everything downstream of that is the same loop.

Why is the target symbol picker empty on my new MT4 follower?

Both platforms read the symbol list when you add the account, so the picker is normally populated straight away. If a MetaTrader list is still empty, the read at add didn't come back; it fills in once the account connects, and the picker fills with it.

Do I need an EA installed in MT4 to receive copies?

No. Nothing goes into your MT4 terminal — no EA, no DLL, no script. The MT4 account is added with its server name, account number and password, which are stored only in Supabase Vault, encrypted at rest, and also passed to MetaApi, which runs the MetaTrader terminal connection.

Can one cTrader source drive several MT4 followers at different brokers?

Yes, up to the number of accounts you pay for. Each follower gets the repeater's sizing rule applied to its own account, and where the brokers spell an instrument differently you add a remapping pointed at that one follower rather than at all of them. A remapping set for all followers can only offer symbols that every follower lists, so per-follower remappings are the usual answer when brokers diverge.
