Alerts

Every alert Trepeat raises, what it means, and whether it clears itself.

Alerts tell you when something needed your attention. Most clear themselves once the condition goes away — a reconnected account resolves its own disconnection alert — so an alert that is still showing is one that still applies.

Severity

  • Error — copying is affected right now, or a position is not where you expect it. Read these first.
  • Warning — something was skipped or adjusted. Copying continues.
  • Info — a record of a normal event, kept so the history is complete.

Connection

  • Account disconnected — the broker stopped accepting the connection. Brief drops are normal and resolve themselves; one lasting beyond about thirty minutes is raised as an error. Nothing copies on that account meanwhile.
  • Account disconnected externally — the session was ended from outside Trepeat, which usually means the same login was used elsewhere.
  • Source account disconnected — the account being copied FROM is unreachable, so the repeater has nothing to copy. Followers are untouched.
  • cTrader needs re-authorising — the cTrader authorisation can no longer be renewed. Copying continues until the current access expires; the alert names the date. See Connecting a cTrader account.
  • Account connected and Account on standby — informational. Standby is the resting state of a healthy account, not a fault.

Copying

  • Order failed on follower account — the broker refused the copy, and the alert carries the broker's own reason. An unknown symbol is the most common cause; see Symbol allowlist and remapping.
  • Copy skipped on follower account — the trade was not copied, for a reason the alert names, such as a symbol outside the allowlist or a follower that was paused.
  • Copy size capped by broker limit — the sized volume exceeded what the follower's broker accepts, so it went out at the maximum allowed. The copy is smaller than the rule asked for.
  • Won't mirror on a netting account — a second trade in the same symbol on a netting follower reduces the existing position instead of opening its own, so the follower cannot track the source. Raised at the moment it matters rather than at setup.

Closing

  • Couldn't close a copied position — the source closed but the follower's did not, so that account is still exposed. Close it at the broker. This one clears itself if the position is found to be gone on the next connection.
  • Couldn't close a copied position — it merged with your own — on a netting follower the copy merged into a position you already held, so the surviving position is partly yours. Trepeat refuses to close it, because closing it would close your trade with it. The position stays open and you decide what to do with it. See Running, Stopped and open positions.
  • Couldn't close a copied position — it merged with another repeat — on a netting follower the copy merged with a copy from another of your trades. Trepeat only closes a position when every lot in it belongs to the trade being closed, so it is left alone. Flatten all closes it when every lot in it is a Trepeat copy; otherwise close it at the broker.
  • Couldn't close a position — your broker did not close it — Trepeat sent a close, mirroring a source close or a Flatten, and the broker refused it. The alert carries the broker's reason. The position is still open; close it at the broker. Every attempt Trepeat makes and cannot complete raises its own alert.
  • Couldn't close a copied position — close it on your broker — the source closed, Trepeat sent the close, and the position still shows as open. It may already be gone and only reported late by the broker. Check the broker; Trepeat does not retry closes in the background.
  • Late broker fill — the broker confirmed a fill after Trepeat had stopped waiting. Where the position could then be closed automatically it says so; where it could not, it is an error and the position needs closing.
  • Flatten failed or Flatten partial — one or more positions did not respond to Flatten. The alert says how many, and the reason the broker gave.
  • Open positions on a disconnected account — positions are open where Trepeat can no longer act. Reconnect the account, or close them at the broker.

Repeaters

  • Repeater stopped — you stopped it. Informational, and a record that copying ended.
  • Repeater stopped automatically — Trepeat stopped it because it could not keep copying safely. The alert gives the reason. Open positions are never closed by a stop — see Running, Stopped and open positions.
  • Follower account is a source account in another repeater — a chain, where copies would be copied onward. Raised once and kept, because it is a configuration fact rather than an event.

Email

Not every alert is emailed. The ones that are, are those you cannot act on from inside the app because they mean copying has stopped or a position is exposed. The categories are switched on and off in Settings and apply to your whole account, not per broker account — a repeater stopping is emailed or it is not, whichever account it happened on.
